Why I choose to build small apps

There is a strong temptation while building something: add a feature. It feels like progress. Yet what decides whether an app is used or abandoned is rarely the number of features.

What I keep finding is that people stop using an app not because it lacks power, but because of one small irritation: having to log in again and again, a layout that falls apart on a phone, or a process that takes too many taps for something trivial.

So the measure of success I use now is simple: do people still open it next week without me reminding them. If yes, the app is right. If not, adding features will not help.

These notes will collect things like that — small lessons that only become visible once other people actually use what you built.
